Everyone is at risk of developing a blood clot while in hospital, those at high risk will have a greater chance of a blood clot killing them.

Many of these blood clots are preventable through a simple and painless risk assessment carried out while in hospital by the ward doctor or nurse, as recommended by the government.¹
